No holiday to Uganda would be complete without tasting what can be branded ‘street food’ ; samosas stuffed with meat or vegetables, roast pork on sticks or the Moorish Kabalagala pancakes which are made from cassava flour and ripe bananas and fried in hot oil. Two unmissable local delicacies are the Rolex which is a soft chappati (a type of flatbread) with an omelette rolled inside it and the infamous Nsenene; fried grasshoppers.
